Hi,

With a slight delay, we are pleased to announce the first release
candidate of Zephyr 1.7 with a large set of new features and
additional hardware support.
Master is now open for moderated changes targeting 1.8 and will be
fully open for all changes once we release 1.7.
Congratulations, and thanks for applying the v1.7.99 tag on master, as
discussed previously. "git describe" is now happy:

$ git describe
v1.7.99-14-g674db4d

I then went to describe v*.99 tag in
https://wiki.zephyrproject.org/view/Development_Model , and I guess
what I wrote may need a cleanup, please review:

https://wiki.zephyrproject.org/index.php?title=Development_Model&diff=1470&oldid=1117

(I would also add info about v*.99 to
https://wiki.zephyrproject.org/view/Development_Model#Release_Cycle
section, but from a quick read, what's written there doesn't exactly
correspond to what we have in reality, so I refrained from touching it
at least until I re-read the doc completely).

Thanks,
Paul
