Just cloned the last version of net_tools and after building and running the echo_server on master as indicated in the " Networking-with-Qemu" wiki, I don't observe any issues (quick test, TCP and UDP over IPv4 only).
And it seems the network interface is working fine, as you are able to ping/ping6.

Can you try again with telnet, or with nc -u 192.0.2.1 4242/nc 192.0.2.1 4242 and a network sniffer like Wireshark?

“1418.186 Packet from TUN of length 92 – Write SLIP”
My option for tunslip6. (tunslip6 -T -L -v4 -s `readlink /tmp/slip.dev` 2001:db8::1/64)
 
Am I missing something for working echo_server app in zephyr on QEMU?
Please share your experience about network connection between QEMU and Linux.

I looked in the code and I think I found the problem (at least part of it).
In the function `net_ipv6_prepare_for_send`, first the `nexthop` is calculated  based on the routing table. But then the neighbor lookup is done for the destination ip and NOT the nexthop (ipv6.c line 529).

Changing:
nbr = nbr_lookup(&net_neighbor.table, net_nbuf_iface(buf),
&NET_IPV6_BUF(buf)->dst);
To:
nbr = nbr_lookup(&net_neighbor.table, net_nbuf_iface(buf),
 nexthop);

solved the issue.

What command did you use? Perhaps:

ping -I bt0 2001:db8::1
connect: Network is unreachable

It looks like there is no advertisement for this address from zephyr
so the Linux side don't even attempt to send anything.

Galileo's Ethernet driver (DesignWare hw actually) is not supported
anymore. It's would require to be ported to the new network stack.

You will have to try another target (arduino 101 + enc28j60 shield, or
FRDM K64F for instance).

Have you ever seen the LED light? If not, it may be a bad LED.

Probably you should write a program that not only blinks the on-board LED but also sends as a off-on to a GPIO.

You could hook up an external LED with resistor and see if that one lights.

Or perhaps try one of the other examples that uses some I/O to verify if programs can be run.

I'm having trouble flashing the arduino101.

i've followed all the instructions available still, tho it says download complete, the code doesnt seem to have been downloaded.

 

The code i am trying is the sample code provided, "blinky". The LED doesn't light up. i have tried various pins apart from the on board LED too.

 

 Is there any extra configuration that i have to do to make it work?

On the Linux side I do:
ping6 aaab::e73f:77ff:fef5:491e

The Zephyr device receives the request, but Zephyr doesn't reply. Zephyr can't find the L2 address of the Linux machine because the Linux machine doesn't reply to the neighbor advertisements.

I added the pcap and a wireshark screenshot.

What command did you use? Perhaps:

ping -I bt0 2001:db8::1
connect: Network is unreachable

It looks like there is no advertisement for this address from zephyr
so the Linux side don't even attempt to send anything.

Well if zephyr would receive anything, but apparently it never leaves

Trouble configuring arduino101 via zephyr

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum for this, but trying my luck. if not, please do direct me towards the right one.

I'm having trouble flashing the arduino101.
i've followed all the instructions available still, tho it says download complete, the code doesnt seem to have been downloaded.

The code i am trying is the sample code provided, "blinky". The LED doesn't light up. i have tried various pins apart from the on board LED too.

 Is there any extra configuration that i have to do to make it work?
Note: i am using a windows 8 pc

I am trying to test samples/net/echo_client, samples/net/echo_server on 2 Intel Galileo Gen1 Boards using zephyr-project(commit : f5eeaf95277be5792279499fa9c65d6d4423a0d2).

My testing enviorment is Galileo(Server) - Hub - Galileo(Client).

But there are no any conf file for galileo board. So i used prj_qemu_x86.conf file and modified makefiles for galileo board.

/samples/net/echo_client/Makefile :

+BOARD ?= galileo

And then i attached output config files and log files.

 

But there are no response.

I think this is due to the gateway, netmask.

Please share it if anyone have solution.
