It really depends on what you are willing to do over BT.

Hi

I was going through some TODOs and found "Enable samples to use
CONFIG_NET_L2_BLUETOOTH". Can anyone please give me pointer to get
started ? Should I enable samples under ../sample/blueooth or
../sample/net ??

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Is the latest zephyer support UDP/IP and TCP/IP?

최형준 <hj210.choi at samsung.com...>

Hello?

Is the latest zephyer code support UDP/IP and TCP/IP?

I can see the APIs for IP at the code (i.e.: zephyr.git/include/net/net_ip.h) however

I cannot find the API document for IP at the API Documentation (i.e.: https://www.zephyrproject.org/doc/api/api.html)

Kind Regards,

Hyungjun.

Thanks for finding those issues.

- a build with the newlib c library and the networking stack causes:
subsys/net/ip/net_context.c:1600:12: error: 'ESHUTDOWN' undeclared
(first use in this function)
This is because the error number is only defined in libc/minimal/errno.h
newlib does not provide any, but it probably counts on default
definitions from the sdk I guess?
We would have a lot more trouble if not.

I wonder if this isn't an sdk bug then.
If you look at errno.h as provided by newlib, it says:

#ifdef __LINUX_ERRNO_EXTENSIONS__
#define ESHUTDOWN 110 /* Can't send after socket shutdown */
#endif

so compiling with -D__LINUX_ERRNO_EXTENSIONS__ should fix it.

- another build error in RPL routing, but i don't know the reason:
subsys/net/ip/rpl-mrhof.c:202:30: error: 'struct
net_rpl_node_energy_object' has no member named 'energy_est'
I quickly sent a fix for it.

Hi Flavio,

It's just a coincidence that now only application protocols are found there,
but in future we could find much different parts there as well. lib if
fine imo.

Tomasz

Hello Luiz,

Currently the network protocols are enabled via Kconfig and they live in the network branch, for example: https://gerrit.zephyrproject.org/r/#/q/status:merged+branch:net+zoap

Perhaps the "lib" stuff is misleading.

Flavio

Hi Flavio,

But are they really meand to be all libraries or built-in code enabled
via Kconfig, for the later I guess it makes more sense to name it
proto, actually real libraries shall not really be mixed up with
subsystem code as they may happen to in different governance, license,
etc, and perhaps there are not even to be maintained in the net
branch.

Hello,

Currently, network protocols are placed at lib/iot/{dns, http, mqtt, zoap}. Given that these protocols are part of the network subsystem, it makes sense to move them to subsys/net/lib/{dns, http, mqtt, zoap}.
